The core of The Pilates Barre training method are those exercises designed by Joseph Pilates himself, which incorperate control, breath, concentration, centering, precision and flow, making our workouts unique to each individual who comes through our doors. We implement these techniques in all of our sessions whether in a 45 minute group setting or 30, even 50 minute private lesson. The Reformer provides constant resistance and infinitely more exercise options than a traditional mat Pilates, it allows the body to transition quickly and smoothly from one exercise to another by maintaining a good flow and pace to the Reformer Classes.

All muscle groups, from large to small, are strengthened in a non-aggressive, low-impact manner making all of our workouts as good for your muscles as it is for your joints. The love of Pilates began well over 10 years ago for Kim and Melissa. Both of us had worked in many studios where we were able to provide specialized training for our clients and still have flexiblily in our schedules. As time passed our standards grew, our level of training expanded, and we knew the next step was to team up, open a place of our own, and set the bar high!

We took the leap and opened The Pilates Barre of New Jersey and felt we had to deliver in every way we possibly could by creating a space that everyone could walk into, appreciate, and walk out of feeling like a better version of who they were when they walked in. The concept was always to think of us as our ideal clients, and if we were attracting people like us we knew our clientele would expect nothing but the highest level of care. The equipement had to be innovative as well as the teaching methods and the solid sense of customer appreciation had to surpass all of our expectations.
